I remember during a high school English class a friend of mine was reading Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. We were both amused by the goofy photo Douglas Adams had chosen of himself for the back cover. He is shown sipping tea while making a weird face. I wouldn’t understand until years later how important and influential this work of literature would be in sci-fi. I bring this up because I like the idea of this man writing something so smart and seminal yet still acts like a big goofball.
What’s the point here? I want to share a more personal side of myself, but as I once told and ex-girlfriend, “85% of what I say is done to amuse myself.” I’m first and foremost a goof, but there is more to me. That’s all you need to know now, the rest of the blog will reveal more about me.
